Joann Roy, a Deckerville Community School graduate from 1958, earned an Associate of Arts degree from Port Huron Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education in 1962. She was married to the late Lansing Roy for over fifty years and raised six children, now with eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
With over three decades of teaching experience, Joann founded two Christian schools before becoming the office manager for a law firm in Jacksonville, Florida, from 1995 to 2011. She earned a Theology degree from Life Christian University and became a respected church leader. Joann returned to Deckerville in 2021 and continues to positively impact her community.
